Turkey is very good value this year- our prices are in pounds sterling, which effectively offers heavy discounts to Europeans and Americans. For UK citizens all payments are in sterling, so no euro supplementary costs. In Turkey, the Lire is about as weak as the Pound, hence spending power for shopping etc., remains good, even for British guests.

2009 is now booked except for week commencing 28th September due to a cancellation, and 26th October. We can access other boats if required.

If you're looking for a week of fun with a group of mates then Salamander has it all. Beautiful weather, sports activities and comfortable accommodation (though I'd recommend sleeping on deck, much more authentic!). Drink long into the night and spend the day swimming in clear blue water with an excellent crew to look after you. Highly recommended!

The result of accepting an invitation from Peter Cooke to join his friends aboard ‘Salamander’ proved to be an unexpected delight for Catherine and myself.

The traditional Turkish Gulets are influenced by the nautical history of the region and present a very much simpler vessel than the yachts I have been creating. ‘Salamander’s’ internal and deck space offer a wonderful vessel for exploring the fascinating and historic coastline out of the port of Bodrum.

This is a water experience not to be missed.

Dear Peter,
A note after the second of the two weeks that we spent on Salamander. We, and all our guests, enjoyed ourselves greatly. Lots of things contributed to this happy state of affairs but the attentiveness and the efficiency of the crew laid the foundation. Kasim, Mustafa, Kabil and Ibrahim really worked hard to look after, feed and "water" us. Kasim spread a cool effciency over everything and his choice of anchorages could not be faulted. All of this was complimented by Gokhan's seamless organisation between shore, boat, hotel and airport.
It was a great holiday and a tribute to your organisation.

We had a fantastic week on board. It was our first experience of this type of holiday and I sincerely hope it wont be the last! The
scenery was stunning, really beautiful, reminded me of the west coast of Scotland (on a sunny day of course!).

The staff were brilliant, couldnt do enough to help us and the food was superb, so fresh and tasty, and so much of it! The wine as recommended by yourself was excellent.

The crew kept the boat immaculate! Nothing was too much trouble for them, their manners were perfect. They must have thought we were the laziest people in the world - please tell me we are not the only ones!

Who are Salamander Voyages?

The gulet "Salamander" is privately owned by Peter & Jenny Cooke from Northern Ireland, and is offered for single party weekly gulet charter on the turquoise coast of south west (Aegean) and south Turkey (Mediterranean).
We fell in love with the "Blue Cruise" gulet holidays concept in south west Turkey and are now able to offer it on board our own beautiful Salamander to friends and guests through our company Salamander Voyages.
We love it enough to spend several weeks there ourselves every year (actually 22 weeks on board over the first 6 seasons!).
Imagine dragging your own vast blue swimming pool around behind your beautiful gulet and you are beginning to get the idea...

Aegean or Mediterranean, Turkish coast or Greek Islands ~ you choose for your gulet holidays

Salamander operates exclusive gulet charter from Bodrum from late April until the end of October each year. Sailing Turkey has never been more fun!
She travels on the traditional charter Turkey routes but with a notable difference. Whether you have experienced a gulet sailing holiday before or not we hope you will find our approach especially attractive.
Salamander Voyages will customise your 7 or 14 day adventure to suit your own requirements.
If you want to visit ancient Lycian, Carian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine or Ottoman ruins we will design a voyage to visit sites which may often not be reached by road.
Whether you want to visit peaceful isolated bays, charming small rural villages or large bustling towns with entertainment and shopping opportunities, you choose.
If you wish to visit some of the local Greek islands of Kos, Rhodes and Simi that can also be arranged for a small additional charge.
Whatever your plan for a gulet charter, Turkey is the place to start and Bodrum gives you a great choice of alternative routes to travel.

Will it suit my family & friends

We think so. You absolutely do not have to be a boat enthusiast to enjoy our gulet. Sailing Turkey on a gulet is an experience for boat lovers and non sailors alike.
Salamander is large enough to be a stable platform for those who feel a little shaky on the water to feel entirely relaxed, but is still fun to sail when the wind pipes up after lunch on most days.
If you enjoy a mix of peace, pleasant company, quiet bays, buzzing towns and continually changing scenery, we think it will put you off beach holidays for life.
Above all it is the ultimate holiday for relaxation- it took us several years to understand why. The key element is that you don't need to make any decisions unless you want to, so the pressures of ordinary life are left far behind. Pure bliss!

Not nearly as expensive as you thought!

Yacht and gulet charter have the image of exclusivity and enormous cost.
The cost of a week's charter for your party of 6 to 12 guests (we only charter to single groups) is comparable to a mid market beach holiday package, but infinitely more liberating. Your annual skiing holiday probably costs considerably more!

The prices for weekly gulet charter on Salamander include airport transfers from Bodrum or Dalaman, and all meals *see Food & Drink above on board, plus free use of the "toys".
Additional activities such as scuba diving and waterskiing are reasonably priced, but are not included in the holiday price.
Airfares and personal travel insurance are not included.
