Booking and Payment

All bookings for our gulet holidays are made and accepted subject to the terms set out in the Booking Conditions. When you confirm your booking in writing or on-line by completing the booking form, you are required to secure that booking by sending a cheque for 30% of the total holiday cost. If you make a booking in the previous calendar year to the year in which you wish to go sailing Turkey or the Greek islands, an initial holding deposit of £1,000 is required on booking, with the balance of the 30% deposit due in January of the year in which you will travel.

We do not accept your booking for a particular gulet, and a contract does not exist between you and Salamander Voyages until we receive the deposit and confirm your booking is accepted in writing or by email. Any payment of deposit made by you is held by Salamander Voyages on your behalf until we have confirmed your booking. The person who signs the booking form must be over 18 years of age and will be held responsible for everyone named on the booking form and for keeping everyone informed of the details of the booking. You are requested to check the details of your confirmation and raise any queries with Salamander Voyages immediately.

Full Payment

Full payment must be received by Salamander Voyages within 7 days of the date shown on your final confirmation invoice (8 weeks prior to departure).
Failure to pay within this time may result in your holiday being cancelled, in which case you will be liable to pay the cancellation charges set out beneath.

Late Bookings

Bookings made within 10 weeks of departure will require full payment to be enclosed with the signed booking form.

Guarantee

Although we reserve the right to change prices at any time prior to booking, once your booking is made and deposit received, the cost of your holiday will not change, except where government actions such as VAT or currency increases apply.

Cancellations Made by You

If you have to cancel your booking for any reason the following charges will apply:
More than 56 days before departure: loss of deposit
55-42 days before departure: 50% of holiday price
41-22 days before departure: 75% of holiday price
Less than 22 days before departure: 100% of holiday price
If you wish to cancel your holiday after it has commenced no refund will be made.
You must take out your own cancellation insurance to cover unexpected eventualities, see INSURANCE.

Cancellations by Us

Cancellation by us may be necessary in exceptional circumstances, in which case we will offer you a full and prompt return of money paid, or offer you a voyage on a gulet of equivalent standard.
We reserve the right to cancel your holiday without liability, responsibility or compensation where performance of the agreement is prevented by reason of force majeure, war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, earthquakes or similar events beyond our control.

Changes by You

Where practicable we will endeavour to accommodate any changes you may wish to make to any detail of your booking, but are not obliged to do so.

Changes by Us

As our promotional material is prepared ahead of the season, changes may be made to information given. We agree to inform you before departure if any significant variation occurs.

Insurances

It request in your own interests that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover your own travel, health and public liability risks in full.  Please note that you are not covered for health insurance or medical cover when on board Salamander or other vessels under our management.
Please note that it is your sole responsibility to arrange any additional cover exceeding the amounts payable under our policy or to provide cover for additional areas of liability required by you. We are unable to accept any responsibility for any costs you or anyone in your party may incur as a result of failing to take out adequate insurance cover.
The cost of insurance is not included in your holiday cost from Salamander Voyages.

Flights/Travel

Your holiday cost does not include the cost of your flights to Turkey, which are to be arranged by you. The cost of transfer from Bodrum Airport to the gulet is included, providing that all your party are travelling together. An additional charge will be made for groups who require to be met from more than one flight.

Your Responsibilities

It is your responsibility to ensure that you and those for whom you are booking are in possession of valid passports any other appropriate visas. You should also check that the name and initials on your flight tickets exactly match those on your passports.
You may be required to pay a sum of money in your own currency to secure an entry visa into Turkey (During 2009 British Citizens were required to buy a 3 month visa for £10 sterling, with only English notes accepted).
You are responsible for the safe and reasonable behaviour of your party while on board Salamander or other gulets Turkey
